Best Movie Car Chase Scenes from the Last Decade

The movie car chase scene gives a film the opportunity to express the ingenuity and build quality of some of the world’s greatest machines. It also expresses the freedom of the human spirit, the beauty of nature, and our ability to ignore the price of gas once the sh*t hits the fan.

Okay, so actually we just needed an excuse to sit around watching some of the world’s greatest car chase scenes caught on film in the last decade and (hopefully) get paid for it. And we assume that you’ll enjoy this idea as much as we did, but can accomplish it in a fraction of the time it took us (you’re welcome).

Let’s get to it:

6 Underground (2019)

We can sum up this scene from 6 Underground in two words – “Michael Bay”. Everything else is said through the video above.

Faster (2010)

Before the Rock joined the Fast and Furious franchise he was driving a 1970-ish Chevrolet Chevelle in the film, Faster. And while this scene is only a minute long, we think it says a lot about the untapped potential of both the Chevelle and the man driving it.

John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017)

How many ways can a man die? We had no idea until we watched the first couple of John Wick Films. But the real question we have: Is there anything that John Wick can’t do? Die, apparently.

Drive (2011)

Many great movie scenes have gone down with thousand-word monologues that dare not leave a single dry eye in the house. And this may have been the case here if the sound of those V8’s hadn’t made it so difficult for Ryan Gosling to present his brilliant speech. But we’re okay with that.

The Fate of the Furious (2017)

No car chase movies list would be complete without mentioning Fast and Furious (of which we have already mentioned), and you might be thinking we’d yank something out of the vault from Tokyo Drift, or maybe the Heist scene in Fast Five, or the police chase in 2 Fast 2 Furious. But we couldn’t let ourselves off that easily. We think the best car chase scene took place in New York City, and we’ll admit that our decision was heavily swayed by the eclectic mix of a vintage Corvette, Mercedes SLS, 1971 Plymouth GTX (driven by Toretto), and well over 100 zombie-cars.

Baby Driver (2017)

We live for the moments when we walk into a film with absolutely no opinion – and just six minutes into the film – we’re in love.

To tell you the truth, there are so many great car chase scenes it was not easy to come up with these top picks, so we feel a need to include a few honorable mentions from the last century.

Bullit (1968)

The Bourne Supremacy (2004)

The Italian Job (2003)

The Blues Brothers (1980)

Ronin (1998)
