Born in Russia, Iryna Ivanova grew up in Crimea and moved to the U.S. when she was 16 and attended the University of Arizona. Shortly after, she lived the dream of (some) young women by becoming a playmate and moving into the playboy mansion. A year later she returned to Arizona and completed her MBA in 2012.
This sounds like the kind of woman we’d like to get to know better… so we did:
Urbasm: What do you have coming up that we can look forward to, Iryna?
Iryna Ivanova: It’s a surprise, but please stay tuned via my social media to find out soon.
Urbasm: We’re on it. Do you think your success has been more about who you know, or how well you know yourself—and why?
Iryna: It would have been super helpful to have had industry connections, but in my case I just submitted my pictures to Playboy on a whim and was selected to be Playmate of the Month. After getting that first break, I built up a social media presence and continued to shoot for additional publications.
Urbasm: Is there a particular outfit you own that makes you feel super sexy when out on the town?
Iryna: I do not care if I have t-shirt and jeans on, a potato sack or a designer dress. As long as I am wearing my 6-inch Louboutin heels—I feel sexy. Wearing stilettos makes me feel on top of the world.
Urbasm: We can see how that would help. What is something about you that most people may not realize?
Iryna: As a typical Russian child, I was enrolled in School of Music. I spent 8 years learning how to play piano and have nightmares about it to this day. I am also double jointed and am working on becoming a chessmaster.
Urbasm: What are the top three things that are on your bucket list for the new year?
Iryna: For the Ukraine/Russia conflict to end so that my family and the people of both countries can be at peace. Visit Bunny Island in Japan—Yes, I am obsessed with bunnies. And invent teleportation; you know, just the usual stuff.
Urbasm: What is your favorite pickup line?
Iryna: Hello. Are you accepting applications for a husband?
Urbasm: That one never works for us. And finally, what are the three things that every guy should know, according to Iryna Ivanova?
Iryna: Do not nag, dress well; and surpass her once in a while.
Urbasm: Well, we can’t argue with any of that. Thank you Iryna.
