Cam Gigandet’s 1967 Mustang Shelby GT500

Cam Gigandet's 1967 Mustang Shelby

Cam Gigandet is probably known by your girlfriend, as James, the evil vampire in the first Twilight film. None-the-less, we are going to attempt to give him some macho credibility as the owner of this Mustang Shelby GT500.

Eleanor, as this body kit is usually referred, is the ultimate temptress. She is smooth talking (lopey idle), fast drinking (poor mpg), and offers minimal upkeep to those who treat her right. In 1967, 500 Mustangs were bestowed by Carroll Shelby to wear the GT500 badge. Unfortunately, Eleanor copies are as common as a diner waitress named, Flow.

While the typical 67 Mustang with a 351 Cleveland engine would be lucky to see 350 horsepower on a dyno roller, a properly restored Eleanor Mustang, such as Cam’s, likely has a Ford 428 big-block. This is because the 428 has an easier time fulfilling its “500” horsepower promise.
