The Best of Kickstarter

Kickstart-Best-of

Back in days before social media was just a thumb twitch away, getting your ideas out to the right people meant hours of planning, cold calling, presentations, meetings, condemning your first born to a Chinese slave, and finally receiving a check for $5 from your grandma. To date, Kickstarter has helped fund over $274 million to start up business ideas, which would have never had a chance.

Today, we celebrate the past and present of these cool gadgets (most of which you will probably never need), but might enjoy owning, regardless.

Pebble Smart Watch– With a goal of $100,000, Pebble Technology was floored to discover they had over $10 million in funds to bring their customizable “smartphone friendly” watch into fruition

3D-Doodler-Kickstarter

3D Doodler– This may be one of the most unnecessary, essentials of your office or bachelor pad. The 3D Doodler allows for 3D drawing, using a pen that literally takes your lines off the page, and places them in midair using a special ink.

Ouya Game Console– The Ouya is Xbox360’s worst nightmare. Imagine a powerful gaming console powered by Android, fits in your palm, and features an array of popular games that can be downloaded right off the internet.

imaginary-marching-band-kickstarter

Imaginary Marching band– A man can do many wonderful things with his hands. However, what you may have never thought possible, is playing in an entire marching band using them, and you don’t even have to be a nerd to sound good. This “homemade” robotic pipe organ was pretty cool too.

Spike– Yes, touchscreens are awesome… until you actually need to type something on one. That’s when you need Spike, an “actual” physical keyboard that attaches to your smartphone when you really need it.
