Made To Order – Eat Like A Man

“Made to order” is food that is minimal on ingredients, tools, time (less than 20 minutes), and talent. But we’re thinking something a bit more complex than a grilled cheese sandwich, and a whole lot more delicious than a frozen pizza. Basically, it’s a formula for simple food to be combined in such a way to be good – damn good. Good enough to be admired and served in a world-class restaurant.

“Eating like a man” refers to eating food that soothes the wild soul and leaves you perfectly satisfied. There is a lot of fast food out there that just isn’t worth your time or your pallet – but these three recipes are the exception (if you ask us).

Stir-Fried Steak Tacos

All you need is a pan, a slice of really great steak (1 pound of skirt steak will do), one onion, a pinch of oregano, dash of chili powder, and a little sugar to taste. And when you calculate that kind of effort, it comes down to about 2 minutes prep, 12 minutes cook time, and a lifetime of meal enjoyment. Sounds worth it to us.

Cheesy Habanero-Stuffed Turkey Burger

It is amazing when healthy food tastes like it should be banned from your life, yet it is healthy enough to be found in the pages of Men’s Fitness. This cheesy Habanero burger is spicy and juicy, featuring 16 ounces of lean ground turkey, one grilled poblano pepper, 2 ounces of Habanero cheese, and a grilled pineapple to bring home all this flavor. Once you get your grill fired up your talking about 15 minutes to go from starved to completely satisfied.

Pan Roasted Chicken Breast with Tomatoes and White Beans

Practically every man is familiar with the comfort food. It was likely founded in his childhood on Sunday afternoons when mom would get out her cookbook and fill the entire home with the aroma of slow-cooked meat, sauteed vegetables, and pure happiness. These days can be brought back to life in your own home using a quarter of the time and a few simple ingredients, including chicken, Italian herbs, cherry tomatoes, a few cloves of garlic, and one cup of cooked white beans. This will take less than 20 minutes once it’s settled in the oven, but the essence of its brilliance will linger long after you’ve rinsed the pan and called it a night.
