We have never met a biochemist quite like Raquel Pomplun. But to be entirely fair, we don’t know many biochemists to compare her to. After appearing as Playboy’s Playmate of the month for April 2012 and winning the Playmate of the Year in 2013 her appointment book began filling up with other entertainment opportunities, including modeling, acting, dancing and hosting.
Well, that was a few years ago and Raquel Pomplun has been busy working on a new bag of tricks. Care to see what she has in her bag?

Urbasm: Hi Raquel, what all do you have coming up that we can look forward to seeing you in?
Raquel Pomplun: I have a new comedic web series called Chocolate Milk Series with co-star Malorie Mackey. I have a new gold card coming out this summer by JMark: The Endless Summer 2015 Raquel Pomplun Gold Card, with one gram of pure gold. I am also working on a new action packed web series called “Infinity” that will be coming out in August. On top of everything, just building my brand and keeping the #Pomplunation present everywhere.
Urbasm: Oh, well that’s not much at all (laughs). So what would you say has been the key to your success?

Raquel Pomplun: Patience and perseverance.
Urbasm: Do you think success is more about who you know, or how well you know yourself—and why?
Raquel Pomplun: Totally on how well you know yourself. You have to know what you want and how you want to get it in order to portray confidence and security in your brand and talent. People in the industry don’t care about how much you can favor them, but how unique and successful you will be to the masses, and the only way to be that is by being real.
Urbasm: What are the top three things that are on your bucket list for the remainder of the year?
Raquel Pomplun: Advance my acting career, push my comedic web series and spread the #Pomplunation love!

Urbasm|: We’re down for that! What is something about you that most guys may not realize?
Raquel Pomplun: That Spanish is my first language, and I speak it perfectly.
Urbasm: We’ve been told that men need guidance from women to become more balanced in their lives. What do you think a man can learn from women when it comes to love and life?
Raquel Pomplun: Men could probably learn to be more patient and level headed from SOME women (laughs). Just kidding, but really I guess it depends on the man. Patience, however, is in the top of the list.
Urbasm: And speaking of a man’s best characteristics, in what way do you find a guy’s intellect sexy?

Raquel Pomplun: In the way where he teaches you and doesn’t put you down; he shows you the world to share it with you, and not to impress.
Urbasm: What about a man’s knowledge of wine or history? Is any of that important?
Raquel Pomplun: More like just general knowledge of everything, even if it’s just a little of everything. There’s nothing sexier than a man who is not afraid to be knowledgeable in all genres from electricity to cooking, laundry to carpentry and even a little PC knowledge to mechanics.
Urbasm: Do you also like a man who is sharp witted?
Raquel Pomplun: It’s more about having common sense, which is not that common anymore, and seeing always the solution on a problem and not just the problem.

Urbasm: Is there a particular outfit that makes you feel sexy when you’re out on the town?
Raquel Pomplun: More than an outfit; it’s shoes! High heels always make me feel sexy, no matter what I wear!
Urbasm: We can appreciate that. What would you say has been your all-time favorite pickup line?
Raquel Pomplun: Hi! My name is ______.
Urbasm: Have you ever had the chance to be a wingwoman for a friend?
Raquel Pomplun: Yes!

Raquel Pomplun: I think I helped (laughs)! It was always for my older brother. Girls would feel more comfortable if the “little sister” came along and was funny too. We tried…
Urbasm: (laughs) Ah, that is a great! And our final question is: What are the three things every man should know, according to Raquel?
Raquel Pomplun: How to be a gentleman, finance and cooking.

Raquel Pomplun is a model, dancer, actress and host based out of Los Angeles, CA. She was born in San Diego, CA, grew up in Tijuana, B.C., Mexico and came back to San Diego at the age of thirteen. She attended Southwestern College where she was majoring in Biochemistry. While seeking funding for her academia, she decided to pose for Playboy. Little did she know that after becoming Playboy’s Playmate of the Month April 2012, she would win Playboy Playmate of the Year 2013. Ever since the new direction that Playboy created for her, Raquel has been flourishing in the entertainment industry. From hosting to movie appearances, to many magazine covers, the path of this biochemist has taken a slight tangent to what destiny had in had for her.
