The Porsche 9ff TR 1000 was built from a run of the mill Porsche 997. Okay, since when could a 997 Turbo be called, run of mill? Since this heavily modified 997, tuned by German tuning specialists, 9ff, got a hold of a few Porsche’s and started to tinker with their limits. This 9ff TR 1000 was pumped to over 1,000 horsepower, through its standard flat six. It can sprint from 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds, from 60-120 mph in 4.8 seconds, and 120-180 mph in just 8-seconds.

The secret to its success was a pair of huge turbochargers, larger intercooler, and updated camshafts with a more aggressive cut. The internals were reinforced with titanium rods and crankshaft to keep the engine from self destructing once its 760 lb-ft of torque peaked. It was also fitted with a high flow exhaust, sport-tuned suspension, larger brakes, and a more aerodynamic body shell.

Crumple zones? Forget about it! Who needs those at 250 mph; the car would be an accordion at those speeds…
